there's something else that's special about this post. it was my first custom white balance! white balance has to do with color temperature. when taking portraits of people it's important to get that color right because otherwise the skin can look cadaver gray. all you have to do is take a picture of an 18% gray card and set your white balance to that picture and you should get true to life colors. i'm still learning, but i was really excited to see such a difference with it in these photos! thanks to mr. c for letting me learn!

all i can think about, whenever i see that first picture, is 'man is today a day like that!' it's just totally how i feel. but what a sweetie ha? he was so cheerful and happy to just let me practice. actually that's sorta been my luck from the get go. there hasn't really been a time when my models haven't wanted to let me take their picture. i keep hearing that there are ages that do not like getting their pictures taken. i haven't run into any yet, but when i do you'll be the first to know.
